9 great iPhotos

September 8, 2013

Hi,
We arrived in Medora which was the entrance to Theodore Roosevelt National Park  on Wednesday morning.  We had a good 2 hour circle trip though the park and saw lots of wild life.  I will include the prairie dogs in my next group of pictures.  We saw a movie at the visitor's center which was a good explanation of why T Roosevelt came there and stayed and farmed for several years.  He was living in NYC when his wife died in childbirth and his mother died the same day.  He was grief stricken and wanted to get away from it all.  He came to the Badlands and loved the solitudes and stayed and bought two large farms and farmed for a number of years and finally went back to DC and became president.  He remarried and had children so a happy ending to a sad beginning.
The park was fascinating and good sightseeing.
More to follow.
