Hi all,
Just a quick note to let you know where we are. We left cool
Colorado on Wednesday after a really nice stay with our friends
there. Jack was to come home from the hospital with knee surgery and
he did, the day we left. He is getting along fine the last we heard.
We made it to Hutchinson, Kansas Wednesday and we were very tired
when we arrived there. We certainly slept well that night. We had a
great time visiting with our friend, Blanche Ball for the next couple
of days. One day we drove up to McPherson, KS to her granddaughter's
volleyball game. They were having a volleyball tournament and her
granddaughter (Rex's daughter) is in the eight grade in Hutchinson.
They lost and won games. It was fun to watch them play. It has been
a long time since I watched v. ball and some of the rules have
changed. Kansas was warmer than CO and I miss the cool.
We left KS yesterday and we came on to St. Louis MO. We are having
dinner with friends here tonight.
We found a Unity Church of Peace which we enjoyed attending this
morning. This afternoon Ric has enjoyed watching a football game.
What else on a lazy Sunday afternoon? I get time to do some things
on the computer that way.
Tomorrow we leave for a couple of days at Wright-Patterson AFBase in
Dayton, Ohio on our way to Frederick, MD where we will Wed. and
Thursday and then on to our first week of timeshare in Ocean City, MD.
We are probably 2/3 of the way across the US and have had a good,
thankfully uneventful trip so far. Gas is cheaper here than in CA
but not a lot.
Thanks for writing. It is always good to hear from you.
Take care and we will be in touch again soon.
Love and hugs,
Mom, Dad, Grandmother and Granddaddy,
Ric and Jan(ice)

6 great iPhotos
Sept. 22, 2008
We are having a great trip so far. We survived the NV Desert and and
as you can see we are now in the beautiful Rockie Mountains.
Yesterday we stopped for a short visit with the Premers and the
Millers, former fellow educators, who were camped in Montrose, CO.
Small world. Good to see them. We interrupted their trip to WalMart
but I supposed they still made it!.
We are in Salida, CO at our friends the Womacks . I taught school
with Chaille for ten years. It is great seeing them again. Her
husband had knee replacement surgery Friday morning and he is
recuperating and still in the hospital until Wednesday. We leave
Wednesday for Kansas.
It has been a good trip but with lots of wind. Made me feel like I
was back in Lancaster!!
Take care and keep in touch.

Pending Trip
Hi all,
This is just a short information letter. We are leaving for our 3
month trip east in the morning. We will be driving our car only so
the motor home will have a nice long vacation.
We are driving across Hwy 50 in Neveda again as it is the closest
route for us as we head into Colorado. We did that last year in the
motor home and now we both know what they mean when they call it the
loneliest road in the world. But we will be in the car which will
make it a little easier. The scenery is not much except desert but
there are hills and some pretty places.
I will be writing more as we go along as long as I can get wireless
or DSL where we stay. Our best to all of you and we will be in
touch. Please write us as we get lonely out there on the road.
